Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Eye of Madara

Who is you favorite character in Naruto? It’s a tough question alright, so many different characters to pick between. Well, I can’t really

decide myself, but one of them is definitely Tobi. Or at least he used to be…

To those of you who have got no clue who he is, Tobi is first introduced as a clumsy newcomer to the Akatsuki, the antagonist

organization of the series. He is teamed up with Deidara, were he acts as his inexperienced, almost stupid sidekick. It’s later revealed

that Tobi is actually the evil mastermind behind the Akatsuki’s operations, plotting to use the tailed beast’s powers for his own motives.

From there on, he is the primary antagonist of Naruto, claiming to be the long-dead Madara Uchiha, although there is debate whenever

he is actually Madara Uchiha, or really Obito Uchiha, a former comrade of Kakashi. In chapter 599 of the manga, it’s revealed that he IS

Obito after all, who’s been saved from death and taught by the real Madara. When Madara passed away, Obito took the name for

himself in order to spread panic upon the world.

What I am about to tell you is a trauma that’s been hunting my head for a lot of months now. It all happened when I bought Naruto:

Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, the latest installment in the Ultimate Ninja Storm saga, a fighting game featuring the cast from the Naruto

universe. I’ve been trying to forget that incident ever since it happened, but I just can’t seem to shake it off. Perhaps I need to share it

with someone, to confess maybe. If you are easily frightened, DO NOT proceed to read the following text!!! Otherwise, sit back and

listen to what happened to me about two months ago…

My Story:

I had just been in Gamestop and bought Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. To give a short description of it; it’s a Naruto-based fighting

game, featuring many of the iconic characters. There’s a Free Battle mode where you can fight your friends in multiplayer or against the

computer as you please. There’s an Online Mode where you fight other players online. Then there’s an Ultimate Ninja Mode, following

the story of Naruto Shippuden after the death of Nagato, till the end of the 4th great ninja war. Besides from too many cutscenes, the

game is actually pretty epic.

I can’t describe the joy I felt, when I learned that Tobi was in the game. Unfortunately, I was terrible at playing him, so I tried another

one. I grew pretty fond of Kakashi; great speed, great damage and easy-to-perform jutsu’s. The perfect character for battle! It didn’t

take me long to complete Ultimate Ninja Mode, then I would spend hours playing online matches against others. I don’t like to brag, but

I was a pretty darn good gamer if I must say so myself, I won almost every match I played.

One day, however, everything changed for me…

I was playing Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 online at home one evening, while my parents were out visiting some friends of theirs. I didn’t feel

like going, so I begged my mom to let me stay home, which she accepted after a while.

As I was playing, I received a message in Playstation Networks from some random user named “Shinobi-Lord969”. I instantly checked

my message inbox to see what it read;

“Hi there! I recently learned about this Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 expansion, and I found it to be amazing. I wish to share it with every

Ultimate Ninja Storm player, so that all can enjoy it. Please go ahead and play it, and share it for the good of all Naruto fans! Have fun!”

In the bottom of the message was some downloadable content, including a game. The game was called “Naruto-Shippuden-Ultimate-

Ninja-Storm-3-Eyes-Of-Madara”. Sweet, the person was right, an expansion! Eyes of Madara, what an awesome title, I thought. I had

to play this, immediately! And my parents were gone for the rest of the night, so I was sure not to be interrupted. What a nice

coincidence this was! I instantly began to download the game, excited to try it out. As soon as the game was ready, I began to play it.

That was the biggest mistake of my life…

The Game:

The game began by introducing the logo’s of the makers of the game; Bandai, Criware and Cyber Connect 2. Normally there would be

an opening, showing some of the game’s contest, but unfortunately there didn’t appear to be one. Instead, it cut directly to the menu

screen. I noticed that the menu screen were the same one as the original game; the one where Naruto stands on top of the gates to

Konoha, staring at the beautiful skies. In the top-middle of the screen is the title, and at the bottom-middle is a text, telling you

to “press start to continue”. The normal theme were playing, nothing seemed new or changed. I was kind of disappointed about this; I

had at least expected a little change. Oh well, not that big a deal anyway, I thought. But when I pressed “start”, something weird

happened. For a split second, a disturbing close-up image of Tobi’s face flashed on the screen. It only appeared for a split-second, so I

barely caught a good glimpse of it. When the image disappeared, a deep, evil laughter could be heard for about four seconds.

Then the screen went black for about ten seconds. When the screen came up again, I was at the menu screen. But this time, it looked

different. The background showed a full perspective image of Konoha. It was devastated, even more ruined than it had been when Pain

attacked in the series. It was nighttime. There was only one mode I could play at; “Ultimate Revenge Mode”. I felt nervous about this.

That Tobi image almost gave me a heart attack, and now this?? What the hell was up with this creepy intro?? I told myself that this was

just some effects to get the players in the right mood. Ultimate Revenge Mode… was that the new story mode? Probably…

Without much else to do, I selected the Ultimate Revenge Mode.

The screen went black for five seconds. As the screen returned, it showed the Forest of Death. It was nighttime, not a single sound could

be heard in the forest. All the animals had probably gone into hiding by now. There was absolutely no wind either, just plain silence. The

camera focused on the exact same image in twenty seconds. Then I saw a shadow jumping through the forest. It was Kakashi, the

copycat ninja and Naruto’s former sensei. But something seemed off. Kakashi had a worried look on his face, almost as if he was scarred

of something. He ran off as fast as he could, until he slipped on a branch, and landed with his face first on the ground. Kakashi didn’t

have time to moan over his pain, as he immediately got up again, and continued running. I began to think that he was running away

from something, or perhaps someone? Either way, I felt scarred as I watched this cutscene. What on earth could

possibly scare Kakashi like this?? The cutscene ended, and I was now in control of Kakashi. Awesome, I was playing as my best

character in the game!

Is what I would have normally thought, but not this time. As Kakashi shared his movement with me, he somehow also shared his fear. I

felt as if I was being watched, that something or someone was coming after me as I ran. I looked on the map. There was only one way

to go; forward. And so I did. As Kakashi ran through the forest, there was complete silence. No theme was playing, no sound could be

heard, besides Kakashi’s footsteps. The silence pierced my nerves as a rusty knife. After what felt like hours of running, a new cutscene

appeared. Kakashi was still running, but stopped as he saw someone in between the trees; it was Tobi. But something felt wrong about

him; he was just standing there, starring at Kakashi. He didn’t move an inch of his body. Kakashi switched his expression from shock to

anger. Kakashi then rushed towards Tobi, raising his fist in a Chidori. As Kakashi rushed towards Tobi, I had a sudden feeling of dread,

as if something horrible was gonna happen to Kakashi. I wanted him to turn around, walk away from the danger, away from Tobi.

Kakashi was now right in front of Tobi, ready to blast him with a powerful Chidori. That’s when it happened; Tobi revealed his Sharingan,

and the screen went black for about ten seconds. I felt worried at this point. I was afraid on Kakashi’s behalf; I wanted to know what

happened to him.

As the screen returned, I saw that Kakashi was now in some sick, twisted world. The floor was some sort of black ground, stretching out

as far as the eye could see. The skies were a giant, purple vortex, ripping off parts of the ground floor, and then consuming them. Some

distorted tune was playing. It sounded kind of like the boss theme from Sonic CD, but it appeared to have been slowed remarkably

down. Multiple whispers could be heard in the background, all speaking at the same time, making it impossible for me to hear what they

said. I noticed that the map were missing, giving me no clue where to go next. Therefore, I chose to make Kakashi run forward, hoping

that nothing bad would happen. As Kakashi ran ahead, disgusting pictures flashed on the screen every five seconds. I remember every

one of those pictures; Sasori having his stomach cut open and being hung on his own intestines, Kisame being viciously impaled on

several iron spikes, Itachi having his body torn to pieces by what appeared to be ordinary human fists and Deidara being blown into

bloody pieces by his own detonating clay. I saw Kakuzu having all his limbs torn off, Konan being dissolved by acid, Nagato having his

eyes ripped out,

and worst of all, the immortal Hidan bound on a burning tree, never to escape the endless fires that consumed him. I felt sick to the

stomach as these horrifying images flashed before my eyes. I then came to a conclusion of what had happened; Tobi had butchered

every single member of the Akatsuki in the most gruesome, horrible ways possible. Kakashi had somehow discovered this, and had

tried to escape, although he could feel that the murderer was right after him. I was scared out of my mind. This could never be an

official expansion made by the real creators of the game; this was definitely made by some sick fuck who wanted to scare the living hell

out of others. And he succeeded. A final image flashed before the screen; it was a close-up on Tobi’s sharingan, staring directly at me.

After that image appeared, I lost control of Kakashi, who fell down on the floor, crying. I felt the agony he was in; he could not escape

Tobi’s grasp, nor could he fight back. He was trapped in this endless genjutsu world, forever haunted by the brutal discovery he had

made. There was nothing he could do now, but die. I actually wanted to comfort the poor man. No human deserves to suffer like this.

Tears fell down my eyes along with Kakashi. After thirty seconds of Kakashi crying, Tobi

teleported right in front of him. Kakashi looked up on him with a look of pure terror on his face. He couldn’t speak, neither could he think.

After staring at Kakashi for ten long seconds, Tobi reached his hand out at him. He then launched his fist at Kakashi. The screen turned

black and an ear piercing scream could be heard. It wasn’t just an ordinary scream, this one sounded too real, almost as if Kakashi’s

voice actor was being burned alive while recording this.

Tobi just murdered Kakashi, along with the whole Akatsuki team! Why on earth would tobi eliminate his own organization like this, and

who the hell would create this horrid game and pass it on to strangers online!??

The screen stayed black for fifteen long seconds. The screen then returned to normal, and showed Konoha. But Konoha was definitely

not what it used to be; it had been destroyed. The whole village was in ruins, as fires rose from the grounds. The burning corpses of

several villagers could be found on the devastated streets and inside the flaming houses. The skies were completely covered up by a

giant cloud of smoke, casting darkness upon the village. Agonizing screams and cries for help could be heard from the villages’ few

survivers.

This was a terrible sight, something that I could only imagine in my darkest nightmares. What shocked me the most was actually the

guy I was now controlling; Madara Uchiha!! Not the Madara that Tobi claims to be, this was the real Madara, the one who had been

resurrected by Kabuto. Had Madara caused all this? Had I caused all this?? It didn’t appear to be so, as Madara had a shocked

expression on his face as well. The cutscene ended, and I could now control Madara.

As I made him walk around the devastated village, I saw the burning corpses of many important characters; Shikamaru, Ino, Sakura,

Choji, Sai, Might Guy, Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Neji, Rock Lee,

Tenten, Tsunade, Jiraiya and even Naruto himself!! Now I KNEW that this was no ordinary game. You can never kill Naruto in the

NARUTO universe, for crying out loud!!! Madara seemed to get a bit more unnerved every time he stumbled across a new victim. It

seemed that this was something even Madara himself would consider horrifying. Madara may be a tyrant, but whoever did this was the

pure incarnation of evil. No music was played during this. The only sound to be hear was the obliterating fires and the screams of the

villagers.

After walking around the ruined village for about three minutes, a new cutscene appeared. Madara stopped walking, and looked up at

something. On top of a building stood Tobi, who gazed down at Madara with that haunting sharingan. Madara was shocked to learn

that his own protégé had caused all this death. Tobi teleported in front of Madara, their eyes fixated at each other. After a few seconds

of silence, the cutscene ended, and a battle started.

I was Madara, fighting against this dreadful masked demon. The battle was a true mindfuck; Tobi was an intensely hard opponent,

casting one combo after the other. Whenever I tried to attacking him, my hits would have no effects on him. He was only vulnerable

when he was loading chakra, and it was inpossible to know when he would do that. Luckily Madara was one of the characters I was

best at playing. Had it been any other character, I would have most certainly lost. In the end, when my health bar was only at about

8%, I actually managed to defeat Tobi. I don’t think I have ever felt more relieved in my whole life than at that point! But unfortunately,

this madness

was far from over. Normally the winner would say something to pronounce his victory and the battle would be ranked, while you

received points for your battle. But none of that seemed to happen. Instead, the screen cut to another cutscene.

Tobi was on his knees, looking down at the ground. Madara observed him for about ten seconds. He then began to walk over to him,

standing right in front of Tobi, as he actually spoke to him.

“You cannot defeat me, Obito. I am Madara Uchiha, the god of Shinobi. You are nothing.”

Madara was about to finish Tobi with a fireball jutsu. But then it happened; the one moment that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Tobi activated his Sharingan. Somehow he managed to stun Madara, who was now completely immobile. Madara could do nothing but

watch in horror as Tobi rose from the ground and starred him directly in the eyes. I saw the glimpse of pure horror in Madara’s eyes; he

couldn’t believe what was happening, neither could I. Tobi observed Madara’s fear with great pleasure. He had conquered his former

master.

“No… You are a dead man…”

Tobi rushed at Madara, but right before he hit him, my television began to flicker. I was paralyzed by fear at this moment. I wanted to

turn my playstation off and just do something else, I had wanted to do that ever since the beginning. But curiousity had made me sit

and watch

through the whole thing; I had to know why this was happening. The TV continued to flicker for what seemed like 30 seconds. When the

screen returned to normal, it showed an image that has carved itself into my mind forever; it was the same image of Tobi I had seen in

the beginning of the game. But this time, it stayed on, so that I could get a perfect glimpse of him. The background was completely

dark. Tobi was extremely well designed, it looked almost realistic. You could see every small detail on Tobi’s mask. The mask had small

cracks all over it; a few pieces were missing and dust fell from the mask. It looked so real, almost as if you touched the screen, you

could feel the mask and its curves. What really got to me was Tobi’s Sharingan. You could actually see every little bloodline and mirror

reflection in it. It felt like Tobi was starring right into me, right through my body and into my soul. It felt like he was observing me, as I

sat there paralyzed with horror. On the bottom of the screen was a blood-red text that read “I AM MADARA UCHIHA”.

The image stayed on-screen for about twenty seconds, but it felt like an eternity. The screen began to flicker violently, as you could hear

the same demented laugh as in the beginning of the game. But this time, the laugh sounded much darker, almost distorted. The screen

was flickering for about eight seconds before the screen went black. I was back at the playstation menu screen.

What the fuck had I just witnesses??? Who was that twisted fuck who had send this to me??? I checked my inbox to see the message

again. But it was gone...

I later checked the playstation forums for the user called “Shinobi-Lord969”. There were zero matches to my search.

Update (16-8-13):

I spent the next upcoming days searching online for Shinobi-Lord969, but no matter where I searched, I could never find anything. That

image of Tobi still haunts my mind, especially his eye. No matter where I go, I can always see it in the corner of my eyes, observing me.

After that incident, I never play or watch anything Naruto-related anymore. I can never look at Tobi the same way again. Whoever says

that Tobi is a good boy is either stupid or have no idea what they’re talking about. My life has taken a deep fall since then. School, family

and friends no longer matter to me, the only think that’s in my mind is that cursed game. I’ve lost connection with almost all of my

friends and my grades have dropped hectically. But none of that matter to me, I need to know who’s behind that game.

After a week of researching, I have finally found something. It seems Shinobi-Lord969 is a former user on the playstation network, who

got banned for sending a forbidden file to various users. But it’s just not enough, I need to know exactly who he/she is, who has cursed

my life. I wanted to find this sick fuck, so I could get his sorry ass locked away forever!!!

Update (28-8-13):

Yesterday, I received an e-mail on my computer... As I was about to open it, I noticed the name of the one who had send it; “Madara

Uchiha”. My heart began to beat uncontrollably, but I HAD to know what the mail read. And so I opened the mail. I should have never

done that…

“Do not try to find me, it is a pointless task anyway. I am always near!”
